Clinical Supervision & Reflective Practice

I am an experienced clinical supervisor, coaching and supervising other professionals. I offer individual, peer and small-group supervision and group reflective practice.

I completed the In Tandem Foundation training course and regularly do Continual Professional Development in relation to coaching and supervising others.

What you can expect from me

  • A friendly and supportive approach,

  • An intersectionality and neurodiversity-affirming approach, influenced by my combined clinical and lived experience,

  • Coaching and mentoring to support your practice and development, particularly within an intersectional frame of reference, e.g. de-centering whiteness as a white therapist working with global majority people and other minority groups and expanding neurodiversity-affirming practice beyond cis-gendered norms,

  • Coaching and mentoring to support your leadership development, particularly thinking about the intersectional identities of teams we work with, including needs related to either your own or that of historically and systematically oppressed groups,

  • Experience in holding spaces, including chairing skills,

  • A supportive approach to challenging and furthering your development,

  • Being supervised by someone committed to their own ongoing learning and intersectionality-affirming practice,

  • Prompt communication should I need to cancel the session.

Practicalities

For both 1:1 and group supervision spaces the following will apply:

  • Supervision can be delivered 4-6/8/12 weekly, or as required, for 1-2 hrs per session,

  • I generally plan out dates across the year, providing supervision one day per month between 8am-5.30pm,

  • Sessions are held on Zoom,

  • Sessions can be recorded for you and a link shared for you to watch the session again.  Recordings will be deleted after 60 days.

What I'll expect from you

  • Talking points are requested no less than 24 hours before the session as a reasonable adjustment for my own processing needs,

  • Prompt communication should you need to cancel your session,

  • For you to take comprehensive notes during your supervisions,

  • For you to bring any fidget items you need, and snacks and drinks to session to aid regulation,

  • Protect the time we have booked together,

  • Log your supervision learning in your CPD diary.

Record Keeping

With supervisee consent, I will keep a brief record of the supervision discussions, including the date of the session, times, format in which it took place, supervisee contact details and a brief summary of talking points, such as, themes and agreed outcomes.

When I finish supervising a therapist, records will be kept for 6 years to adhere to HCPC regulations.

I offer clinical supervision on a sliding scale from £65-75

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Kate is easy going and I can ask her anything.  She has really good advice and really thinks about your personal/work situation.

Kate gives practical strategies and ideas you can use without the jargon.  I look forward to seeing her as I know she will give me real-life advice.

I have become more organised and feel I'm achieving more with her input".

Emma - Autism Specialist Teacher and Deputy Manager, Reachout ASC

"Kate's supervision and coaching have had an enormous impact on me as a therapist and as a person.  She has introduced me to the Neurodiversity Paradigm and supported me to embrace a neurodiversity-affirming approach in my SLT practice.  Her immense knowledge, skills and passion have inspired me to question, learn and grow.  She has created a safe and supportive space for reflection and discussion, and I have developed so much as a therapist as a result".
